Running a successful pizza business
As the UK’s pizza culture continues to flourish, how can business owners tap into the nation’s love of the dish?
1. Prioritise affordable ingredients
The beauty of pizza is its humble ingredients which help to create high profit margins and still give chefs the ability to create exciting and delicious menus. Pair simple staple ingredients with artisanal products for a more gourmet feel and to tap into a higher price point.
2. Invest in commercial pizza equipment
Whether you decide to invest in a wood fired oven or stone baked pizza oven, do your research to identify the correct commercial pizza oven for your needs based on the style of pizza you are making. Depending on the size of your operation you should decide if you need a single, twin or triple deck oven which will help you to keep operations as efficient as possible.
3. Optimise for pizza delivery and takeaways
With affordability a continuing factor for customers, make sure you optimise your business to cater for delivery and takeaways. Whether you decide to do this internally or opt into one of the popular online delivery services, make sure you’re equipped with disposable pizza boxes, containers and more.
