After spending last Christmas under strict social restrictions here in the UK, it seems people are more excited than ever for this year’s festive season as we all hope for more ‘normal’ December.

Here at Alliance Online we’ve put together a list of the top trends we can expect to see this year throughout homes, hospitality venues and hotels to celebrate the festive period in style.

1. On Trend Colours

Red, green, and gold colours are continuing to be popular this year if you’re going for a traditional look to your decoration and table settings. However, non-traditional colours are rising in popularity most predominately silver and white which will help to create a snowy look indoors and perfectly compliment modern homes and venues. If you’re looking for a bold statement which exudes luxury, the contrast of black and gold seems to be the go-to this year.

2. Sustainability

With the recent COP26 summit bringing climate change to the forefront of everyone’s mind, sustainability will continue to be an important trend this year as we take steps towards more sustainable practices. With recent studies highlighting that 154,000,000 pieces of rubbish will end up in landfill from Christmas Crackers each year, why not opt for eco-friendly crackers for your table setting which are not only stylish but filled with plastic free goodies.

3. Tree Skirts

Tree Skirts are set to be popular again this year as people are opting for a cleaner and more contemporary look in their homes and venues. These multifunctional accessories provide not only protection for pesky falling pine needles but also act as an aesthetic cover up for often unsightly stands and trunks, giving your festive theme a more cohesive and uncluttered look and allowing your Tree to take centre stage.

4. Christmas Baking

Baking became an obsession for many over the past year and that’s not likely to change going into the festive period, with the focus turning to Christmas goodies you can share with your family and friends. It’s the perfect time to show off your skills and use your imagination to decorate your cookies and cakes to turn them into festive treats which will surely impress your guests. Even better you can enlist your little ones to help to keep them busy over the holidays! We have lots of tools and equipment to help you on your way including the fantastic Santa Hat shaped cookie cutters which gives you the perfect base for showcasing your designs.

5. Garden

This year people are looking for a refined way to continue their decorations outside and are opting to leave their beloved Santa Clauses, Snowmen and Reindeer decorations in the shed and create a beautiful festive look using just lighting. We suggest avoiding flashing or overly colour lights and instead focussing on white and warmer shaded LED lights to highlight paths and wrap around your trees and fences to extend that festive feeling outdoors.
