Sunday the 18th of June is Father’s Day: the annual celebration of the bold, wise & nurturing role models that come from our male parentage. After all that our dad’s have done for us since we’ve popped into the world, the least we can do is take him out for a pint & some good grub, right? Maybe we could even rustle up a manly feast in the kitchen ourselves. With ‘Dude Food’ (meals that are believed to appeal primarily to men) being on the rise, there’s no shortage of mouth watering selections to cater to Dad’s appetite on this special day.
Golden Fried Chicken
A golden opportunity for perfection. Drumsticks; thighs, fillets, wings, this traditional recipe expresses culinary freedom like ‘Dude Food’ should. It’s marinade, including soothing buttermilk & garlic, is tantalised with the inclusion of paprika, tabasco sauce & black pepper to make every bite a party in your mouth where everyone’s invited.
The crispy coating is the difference in what makes, not just a standard appetiser but, a wonderfully spicy memory. Added in with top quality all purpose flour; panko, a Japanese variation of breadcrumbs, come together with grated cheese, mustard powder, black pepper & garlic powder. It creates a spark of joy and metaphorical fireworks in its taste.

Cajun Steak with Apricot Orange Glaze
The tender, juicy & heavenly meaty treat that is the Cajun steak, enveloped in the sweet & tangy apricot orange marinade is a marriage of everything a fine meat dish can be. Serve it with chips, throw it on a sandwich or wrap or just serve it with a second steak!
Rubbed up with a Cajun spice, the flavour seeps through the 5 star-quality delight. The longer you leave it to soak up the marinade, the better the meat will soak it up like a sponge of breath-taking flavours. This may start off as a Father’s Day treat but it will soon be an everyday recipe!

Beer Brownies
A round of pints? Nope. Sorry, Dads. It’s all about a round of brownies with our favourite beer mixed in. Not only will your palate be uplifted with an ‘oh so lovely’ chocolate flavour but you’ll be delighted when you taste it’s fusion with your favourite beer. The smooth yet slightly salty peanut butter frosting compliments it perfectly as well! This particular recipe is healthier than you might expect, so feel free to make a double batch for seconds if you’re all feeling extra peckish!
